If you want one recommendation and nothing else, it's this one. The Qrevo Curv is the first robot vacuum I've tested that genuinely made me forget I owned a regular vacuum. Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni — Best Mopping
If your home is predominantly hard floors — and let's be honest, most Australian homes are tiles or timber — the X8 Pro Omni deserves serious consideration. Its OZMO Roller mop technology uses a physical roller instead of spinning pads, and the difference is immediately visible. It scrubs rather than smears, which means dried coffee stains and kitchen splashes actually come up.

Hard floor performance is where premium models really shine — tiles and timber make up most Australian homes.
The S8 MaxV Ultra was Roborock's flagship before the Qrevo Curv arrived, and it's still an exceptional machine. The Reactive AI 2.0 obstacle avoidance is rock-solid — it identifies and avoids cables, shoes, and pet bowls with eerie accuracy. The FlexiArm side brush and extra edge mop mean it gets closer to walls than almost any competitor.
At 10,000 Pa, the suction is lower than the newer models on paper, but in real-world testing the difference on hard floors was negligible. On thick carpet, the newer models do pull ahead. If your home is mostly hard floors, you won't notice.

The L20 Ultra is the feature king. Its DuoScrub rotating mop pads actually rotate and apply pressure — unlike cheaper models that just vibrate a damp pad across the floor and call it mopping. The massive 4.5-litre water tank in the dock means you can go weeks without refilling, which is genuinely convenient if you're running it daily.
At 7,000 Pa, the suction is noticeably lower than the Roborock and Ecovacs flagships. On timber and tiles it's fine, but on our bedroom carpet it left some embedded pet hair behind that the Qrevo Curv picked up easily. If your home is predominantly carpet, look elsewhere.

Here's the dirty secret of the robot vacuum industry: the mid-range models from two years ago are better than the flagships from four years ago. The Q Revo is the proof. You get dual spinning mops, auto-empty dock, LiDAR navigation, and 5,500 Pa of suction for roughly half the price of the Qrevo Curv.
What you give up: AI obstacle avoidance (it uses basic sensors instead) and the fancy FlexiArm edge cleaning. In practice, this means it'll occasionally bump into a stray shoe, and corners won't be quite as spotless. For most people, in most homes, this is the sweet spot.

If you're buying your first robot vacuum, or you're renting and don't want to invest $2K+ in something you might not take with you, the L10s Ultra at its current street price is genuinely hard to beat. It has LiDAR navigation (not the crappy camera-based stuff you get on sub-$300 models), an auto-empty and mop-wash dock, and 5,300 Pa of suction.
It's an older model — Dreame has since released several successors — but that's exactly why it's such incredible value. The technology is proven, the kinks have been ironed out, and retailers are clearing stock at prices that would have been unthinkable eighteen months ago.
